A new split grille with horizontal blades stretched between stacked headlights. The rear bumper received &#8220;PLYMOUTH&#8221; block lettering. The rear deck lid had a flat center depression the carried over the rear panel, splitting it horizontally.<\/p>\n<p>The Fury I was the base model range. Equipment included model nameplates; full-length mid bodyside moldings; heater and defroster; front seat belts; oil filter and five blackwall tires.<\/p>\n<p>The Fury II had all the above features, plus front foam seats; carpets; Fury II nameplates and moldings along the upper featureline. A spring special edition<br \/>\nhad metallic silver finish; blue vinyl seats; whitewalls; Deluxe wheel covers and bright side window accents.<\/p>\n<p>The Fury III had all the features of the Fury I &amp; II models, plus light package; electric clock; backup lights; oversized tires on convertables; hooked &#8216;candy cane&#8217; molding treatment; Fury III nameplates and louver style cowl side ornaments.<\/p>\n<p>The premium offering in the Fury line-up was the Sport Fury, which had all of the above options, plus bucket seats; console; Deluxe Fury steering wheel; special finned wheel covers; fender skirts and three decortive bars on the front doors.<\/p>\n<p>A new offering based on the Fury sheetmetal, was the V.I.P. line. It originally included only a four-door hardtop with VIP markings; special side moldings with wood grained inserts; fender skirts; center arm rest seats; and interior roof pillar reading lamps. After January 1, 1966, a VIP two-door hardtop coupe was available.<\/p>\n<p>Powertrain Options<br \/>\nThree speed manual transmission was standard. Automatic transmission with Six ($192); with V-8 ($211). Four speed manual floor shift transmission with &#8216;383&#8217; or &#8216;440&#8217; V-8&#8217;s. &#8216;Commando&#8217; V-8 383 cubic inch 270 horsepower two-barrel engine ($71). &#8220;Commando&#8221; V-8 383 cubic inch 325 horsepower four-barrel engine ($120). &#8216;Commando&#8217; V-8 440 cubic inch 365 horsepower four barrel engine ($234). Crankcase vent system, mandatory on California built cars ($5). Sure-Grip positive traction rear axle ($50).
